Not sure if you’ve looked around lately, but shit’s really fucked up out in the real world. Tampa reggae scene staple Tribal Style knows that, but it’s asking listeners to look inside on a song from a new album, Future Roots, due Oct .10.

“The song ‘Wah Do Dem (What's Wrong with Them)’ is basically about peace, achieving that goal within yourself, and helping others in need,” bassist Mugabe Tenn (pictured) told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.

“Don’t waste selflessness like war and unnecessary things. It's about setting a better example for the younger generations to follow," Tenn added. "Like it says in the song, ‘All we want….all we need…is more love and more peace.’”

The band—made up of Mugabe along with his brothers TK and Muti Tenn, along with guitarist Blake Yeager—will celebrate the release of Future Roots on Saturday with a limited-capacity, seated and outdoor concert at New World Brewery, located at 810 E. Skagway Ave.

Only 50 tickets will be sold for the event, which kicks off at 8 p.m. with sounds from DJ Blenda. A press release says cover is $10 and that masks are required when not seated. More information and tickets are available via fwdthinkersmusic.com.
