Local singer-songwriter Jeff Brawer’s decade-old project Choking On the Revelry—which shares a name with his 2016 album—held a gig at Ybor City’s Crowbar last year that must have been well-received enough for Tampa’s Hooch and Hive to host the supergroup for one of the venue’s last-ever proper concerts before closing up shop on Jan. 1.

Brawer has been a regular performer at the Hive going back to at least the few pre-COVID-19 days of 2020, when it was still a fairly new establishment, and frankly, there’s no better style to go out in than with some punk-rock-meets-Americana from an old friend.

Tickets to see Choking On the Revelry play Hooch and Hive in Tampa on Sunday, Dec. 29 are still available and start at $11.11.
