Paul and Ringo are the only Beatles left. In The Who, only Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey still live.

Remember The Monkees? Cheeky drummer-singer Micky Dolenz, and wearer of wool caps-slash-country rock pioneer Michael Nesmith are the only ones left, and they’re still going strong. Whether it’s a tribute album in the style of Nilsson Sings Newman, or an extensive autobiography that took away the last chance to hit the road with The Monkees as a threesome (goofball bassist Peter Tork died in 2019), the two manage to stay somewhat current.

Despite the constant projects, Papa Nez and Micky are ready to call it quits on The Monkees, and what’s billed as the band’s farewell tour will stop at Clearwater’s Ruth Eckerd Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 13. Though this isn’t the first farewell tour showcased by The Monkees, there’s no better time to catch them live.
