Today's Hits w/The Girlfriend Experience Say the name James Swanberg to someone familiar with Chicago's underground scene and you're likely to get some serious nods of approval. The man behind indie pop outfit the Lemons and lo-fi garage rock project WÜLFPAC is one of the Windy City's busiest music makers (RedEye says he once did 100 original songs in a single performance), and tonight he brings his Today's Hits project to St. Pete in support of a new, 17-track cassette released on famed Los Angeles label Burger Records. If happiness could be shot through a tape recorder, then it might sound like Today's Hits. Have a listen below. Rod Olfo (of Veiny Hands and Selectric fame) brings his one man band, The Girlfriend Experience, to open the show. (The Bends, St. Petersburg) INFO

Wax Wednesdays w/DJ Gabe Echazabal CL music correspondent Gabe Echazabal brings his expansive taste to Seminole Heights' hum day celebration of vinyl. I like to call him the professor since every piece a he turns in expands my knowledge of musical eras I never had a chance to live through. You can check out his byline for proof. Nicholas Roberts w/Jeff Brawer/Buck Sands/Michael Ingold After a breakup (of his band), Nashville songwriter Nicholas Roberts spent 2015 in Orlando, Florida working on arrangements for his debut LP, The Rest of Our Lives (released last year in February). Today he shares that collection of polished indie-folk to the patio of New World Brewery. Listen to The Rest of Our Lives on Soundcloud, and get a sample of it below. There's no cover for this show, but you should bring money for a plate of Bird & Pat's famous smoked barbeque. Lara Hope & The Ark-Tones w/Little Sheba and the Shamans/DJ Paul Mallett Rockabilly at the Rooster, gang. Lara Hope & the Ark-Tones are no strangers to the road, but it'll be their first time in the basement of this burgeoning St. Pete nightlife spot. They come supporting a 2014 album, Luck Maker, which you can take a sample of below. (Iberian Rooster, St. Petersburg) INFO
