Allison Crutchfield and The Fizz w/Vagabon/Wet Nurse What the fuck is happening on Eighth Avenue on Wednesday? Because it looks like the CL music team is going to be running back and forth between Crowbar (Cory Branan, Will Quinlan, Ella Jet) and this show where Allison Crutchfield (P.S. Eliot, Bad Banana, Swearin) brings what’ll easily be one of the year’s best solo LPs (Tourist In This Town, out now via Merge Records) to New World for a night of powerful, anxious and self-searching synthy-brushed guitar pop. There’s complete campout potential at this show, too, thanks to the addition of Orlando punks Wet Nurse and one Ms. Lætitia Tamko (aka Vagabon) who is touring behind her own excellent genre-bending debut album of heart-on-the-sleeve next gen pop (Infinite Worlds, out now via Father/Daughter and streaming below). Cory Branan and the Low Standards w/Will Quinlan/Ella Jet An Ybor City appearance from Cory Branan isn’t normally a full band affair (we still love you Jon Snodgrass), so it’s no surprise that we’re a little tingly below the belt about this show that promises to give life to a still unreleased LP, Adios (due April 7 via Bloodshot Records), that was recorded with the help of Deer Tick drummer Robbie Crowell, Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace, Dave Hause and even Amanda Shires. Adios promises to be one of the best Americana records of 2017, and Branan’s live show is famously freewheeling, so you’ll probably be kicking yourself in the nut-gina if you stay home and watch cable TV on hump day. **UPDATE: Cory Branan will also be on the radio thanks to WMNF 88.FM who'll be hosting the band at 4:06 p.m..
