You love Hamilton, but did you know that Daveed Diggs (Thomas Jefferson, Marquis de Lafayette) was in an experimental rap group before he hit it big on stage? The 34-year-old Los Angelino brings that project — Clipping — to the Local 662 in St. Pete tonight, and while it all began as a remix project for William Hutson and Jonathan Snipes seven years ago, things changed when Diggs joined the group.

The group signed with Sub Pop Records in 2013, just a few months after releasing their Midcity record on Bandcamp. They continued to experiment and evolve their delivery over the years and finally made their network television debut in September when they performed "A Better Place" from their new album, Splendor & Misery, on the Late, Late Show with James Corden.
