Art & Soul w/Ayesha Michelle/Sam E. Hues/Tommy Phenom/Torrey Thomas/Wanesha Spencer Left Lane Entertainment's monthy arts showcase sinks into the comfy confines of Iberian Rooster's basement digs for a night of hip-hop, R&B and pop. (SubCentral at Iberian Rooster, St. Petersburg) INFO

Lea Braun w/Danny V. The Ale & the Witch is one of those tried and true venues that folks tend to take advantage of, but you might want to get out there this weekend before the crew goes on a road trip to see what’s being billed as a once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse (the “Great American Total Solar Eclipse” can only be wholly experienced on a path that cuts its way across the U.S. from Oregon to South Carolina. Lea Braun – a Clearwater born-and-raised songwriter inspired by Amy Winehouse and Jack Johnson — provides tunes at this free show. (The Ale & the Witch, St. Petersburg) INFO

The Transfers Melodic librarian rock. Now there is a hook. This central Florida outfit recorded its new music at Ybor City’s now shuttered Red Room Recorders, and the easy listening sounds on two EPs (2014’s The Other Side of Madness and 2012’s Going to the Show), should please fans of Chevelle, Filter and Modern English (all bands The Transfers have shared stages with) (Dunedin Brewery, Dunedin) INFO

Roosevelt Collier Trio Jimi Hendrix Tribute w/Holey Miss Moley Roosevelt Collier, Florida’s patron saint of sacred steel, can make a lap steel scream like none other, and while songs like “The Little Light of Mine,” “Singing Steel” and “Reuben’s Train” would be at home in church or on a festival stage, this particular gig finds Rosie paying tribute to guitar god Jimi Hendrix in very intimate digs. It’s a little otherworldly to watch Hendrix cuts like “Little Wing” and “Voodoo Child” spill off of a lap steel the way Collier makes them, but celebrating Jimi seems to be the perfect reason to take everyone’s ear holes on a trip to outer space.  (Crowbar, Ybor City) INFO
