Later this month, Jannus Live hosts a major Pride concert with Idina Menzel and a barrage of local talent. Think of McKennaโ€”a 24-year-old British glam rocker carrying the torch for David Bowie, minus the androgynyโ€”as an unofficial launch to St. Peteโ€™s Pride-related entertainment.

McKenna, who writes most of his material with little assistance, if any at all, says that pansexuality is the closest description of his sexuality and has spoken out against conversion therapy.

And with Wednesday being his first gig in Tampa Bay since 2018โ€”and his first in St. Petersburg since 2016โ€”brace yourself for McKenna speaking out against other anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in between his spacey anthems and guitar-heavy advice. The indie-rock Oracle Sisters open.

Tickets to see Declan McKenna play Jannus Live in St. Petersburg on Wednesday, June 14 are still available for $29.50.
