Ybor City venue Crowbar is reserving two whole nights for its last “Hot Dog Party” ever.

The Tampa concert hall is set to close before August after two decades in the district and has announced seven bands in the lineup for Hot Dog Party 20, dubbed “The Final Footlong.”

Leading the charge on day one is Young & Sick, the brainchild of Nick van Hofwegen who’s touring behind Lost at Sea, a 2025 collection of almost-yachty pop-rock. One of the band’s songs, a 2018 cover of Passion Pit’s “Sleepyhead,” even landed on the day one morning playlist for NASA’s recent Artemis II mission.

“To be a tiny speck on this wild mission they’re on is beyond crazy,” van Hofwegen said in a TikTok video.

Young & Sick has a connection to the Bay area lately, too, thanks to Hot Dog Party founder Matt E Lee, a Tampa expat who’s been playing bass in the band on recent shows. The band’s Ybor City show is just one of three Florida stops, including gigs on WMNF Tampa’s “Live Music Showcase,” Will’s Pub in Orlando, and Jack Rabbits in Jacksonville.

Tickets for Hot Dog Party 20 “The Final Footlong” happening Friday-Saturday, July 3-4 are still available and start at $17.67.

A rep for Hot Dog Party told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that two versions of the infamous hot dog eating competition will go down: an all-beef throwdown on Friday, July 3 and the vegan contest on Saturday, July 3.

“There will be championship belts for both days,” Brokenmold Entertainment boss Joe D’Acunto added.

Other bands on the bill include Florida indie-rock darling Cannibal Kids, along with hometown heroes like songwriter Geri X, lupine punk band Wolf-Face, and “The freakiest boi band of Tampa” Bad Cameo. Jeremy Gloff, aka the Doggfather and creator of the Hot Dog Party theme song, rounds out the bill alongside DJ and producer Wally Rios.
