A country singer, an actor, friend to Johnny Cash, and a Rhodes Scholar, Kris Kristofferson has lived many lives and never ceases to surprise with new twists and turns in his storied career. So in that case, the out-of-the-blue announcement of a Clearwater show at the end of January 2020 should just be business as usual for this Highwayman.
There has been no official announcement of a tour on Kristofferson's end, but with shows around that same time popping up in Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, looks like Clearwater once again gets to hear "Sunday Morning Coming Down" live (no word if Kristopherson pal and part-time Gulfport resident John Prine will pop in announced like he did when Kristopherson was in town last).
Kristofferson — who also starred in “Dolphin Tale,” filmed down the road at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium — headlines the Bilheimer Capitol Theatre on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $55-$89 and are on sale via rutheckerdhall.com. Robert Earl Keen opens the show.
