St. Pete Pride announced its 2014 Grand Marshals at Bert Smith Auto Group in St. Pete on April 17.
The three category winners are: Female - Darden Rice; Male - Jay Aller; and Organization - PFLAG Tampa.
Earlier this year, Rice was elected to St. Petersburg’s City Council. She is one of three openly gay members of the Council, along with Amy Foster, also elected this cycle, and incumbent Councilman Steve Kornell.
Aller has been actively involved with Tampa Bay’s LGBT community since 1998, and currently is resource development manager for AIDS Service Association of Pinellas.
PFLAG Tampa, run by Nancy and John Desmond, promotes the health and well-being of LGBT individuals, their families and friends through support, education and advocacy.
