Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer, An Evening With Neil Gaiman & Amanda Palmer (self-release)
New York Times best-selling author Gaiman and Dresden Dolls frontwoman/force-of-nature solo artist Palmer (two darkly creative souls who finally tied the knot in 2011) finally present the fruits of their controversial Kickstarter.com labors; the three-disc set comprises select live cuts from a tour of live readings and performance they delivered a few years ago and issued exclusively to their 3,873 backers; this is the first time the material has never been available to the general public. According to Gaiman, the tour was "whatever happens when Amanda and I get together on a stage for two hours. Amanda's fans had to put up with the messy-haired Englishman reading them stories, and mine got to enjoy the beautiful lady singing them songs of angst, post-modernism and woe. Or possibly vice versa. Also, it was an awful lot of fun. I'm glad that people all over the world can now listen to it.” Check out the video for "Makin' Whoopee" below.
