Konrad Wert is almost always teaching, but on the road—which he’s traveled since 2005 with banjo, guitar, and fiddle in hand—the Immokalee-born songwriter’s Possessed by Paul James project fuses roots, bluegrass and folk music with blues and punk (watch the documentary about him, “When It Breaks,” to dive right in).

He brings a hyper-emotive show that once made a New York Times best concerts list to the Hive, which will hopefully listen carefully to what he has to say.

Tickets to see Possessed By Paul James play Hooch and Hive in Tampa on Saturday, Jan. 13 are still available for $17.
