When I think of Jawbreaker, I automatically picture songs like “Ashtray Monument” being played on cello. Wait, what? That’s not my first thought, but rock cellist Gordon Withers had it in his mind, and he has an album of covers where songs from the punk-rock godfathers get driven by the classical music instrument. Listen to the rhythm of the arrangements up close and in person this weekend when Withers — a member of J. Robbins’s band and Office of Future Plans — plays Seminole Heights’ favorite record store.

Gordon Withers w/Will Quinlan. Fri. Nov. 1, 7 p.m.-10 p.m. Suggested $8 donation. Microgroove, 4906 N. Florida Ave., Tampa. 7 p.m.-10 p.m. INFO.
