Tampa Bay live music Tuesday has José Valentino Ruiz at the Palladium in St. Petersburg

One of the best flutists in the world will join O Som Do Jazz.

✔️ José Valentino Ruiz w/O Som Do Jazz José Valentino Ruiz may call Tampa home, but the composer with a doctorate in music philosophy has also seen his band nominated for a Latin Grammy award in the Best Latin Jazz Album category. The flutist may be one of the world’s 10 best on the instrument, also plays electric bass and sax, and has collaborated with artists like Chick Corea, Paquito D’Rivera and Hubert Laws, to name a few. He arrives from Tennessee where he is currently teaching music production and will join Bay area ensemble O Som Do Jazz at Palladium’s Side Door Cabaret in bringing the spirit of ‘60s Brazilian music alive.
