The Arcade Fire premieres The Reflektor Tapes, releases a new trailer

The Canadian art rock ensemble presents their first concert doc at TIFF, with U.S. screenings to follow (trailer included)

Canada's Grammy-winning chamber-hued art rock ensemble Arcade Fire is putting out their first feature film, The Reflektor Tapes, and it has its world premiere at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival on September 12. The North American theatrical release follows on September 23. So far, the closest city hosting a screening is Atlanta — nothing in Florida — but more screenings will be confirmed in the coming weeks. Kahlil Joseph directs The Reflektor Tapes, and was given unparalleled access to the band to put together a concert doc that combines live performances with never-before-seen footage, interviews, and a look at the making of critically acclaimed, 2013 international chart-topper, Reflektor, which was conceived in Jamaica, recorded in Montreal and first played live at a an impromptu gig at a Haitian hotel on the first night of Carnival, then to packed arenas in LA and London. “There were parts of the Reflektor tour where I think we, Arcade Fire, came the closest in our careers to putting on stage what we imagined in our heads," the band said in their official statement. "We were insanely lucky to have Kahlil Joseph documenting from the very beginning."
