Check out some shows happening on this Sat., Oct. 24.

Barb Wire Dolls with F, Car Bomb Driver, Saganaki Bomb Squad Hitting small clubs and dives across the U.S. on a tour that reaches to the end of November, Greece’s outfit Barb Wire Dolls is led by a compelling fashion-savvy bottle-blonde siren, Isis Queen, who has a deep vocal quality not unlike Karen O but with added Courtney Love grit, while her band’s music is equal parts ‘70s punk and ‘90s grunge. (Fubar, St. Petersburg)–Leilani Polk

Red Elvises with Holey Miss Moley The worldly LA-based surf, funk and rockabilly outfit just can’t seem to stay away from Tampa; this is the Red Elvises’ third time in town since last October and they’re still supporting 2014 full-length, Bacon. (Skipper’s Smokehouse, Tampa)–LP

Cimorelli I’d never heard of Cimorelli before this writing but the vocal pop group from California featuring six sisters, ages 15 through 25, has taken the internet by storm with 3.4 million subscribers to their YouTube page, which features covers of songs like “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift (currently at 4.4 million views) and “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen (11 million and counting). (State Theatre, St. Petersburg)–LP

Uke It Out: Tampa Bay Ukulele Festival with Renee and the Rollers, Tom Hood and the Tropical Sons, Poly Essence/JCT 27, AmandaLynn, Alex Bonyata and Bella Beyer WMNF presents this inaugural festie paying tribute to the versatility of the lute family’s most favored four-string member. Seven bands and soloists are showcased, as are types of ukuleles (bass, electric, resonator and banjo ukes included), and the chosen genres vary greatly – from Poly Essence’s mix of reggae rock dosed in authentic Hawaiian island hues by scratchy-toned Polynesian uke playing frontman Lavae Tufaga, to Celtic-hued country-folkgrass by Reenee and the Rollers and upbeat all electric “uke fusion” by Jct 27. The bonus? A “Jimi Hendrix of the Ukulele” contest held to see “who can take the ukulele to the limit and beyond.” All fest attendees who can play are invited to bring a uke and sign up on the spot to compete. An All-Star Finale closes the show and finds every willing and able uke player in the house gathering on the stage for one big four-string jam sesh. (New World Brewery, Ybor City)–LP

Jennifer Nettles with Brandy Clark, Ryan Kinder Everyone knows her as the feminine counterpart to Kristian Bush in behemoth country duo Sugarland, but Jennifer Nettles began working on her own material in 2013 and proved herself a capable with 2014’s That Girl, a debut solo outing that which finds her co-writing all but two of the 10 tracks with help from Butch Walker, Richard Marx, Sara Bareilles and others (lead-off track “Falling” is hers alone while the other is a cover of Bob Seger's "Like a Rock”). (Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater)–LP

Joey Bada$$ with Denzel Curry, Bishop Nehru, Nyck Caution To hip-hop fans, he’s known for his nostalgic, ‘90s golden era style, witty wordplay, and Christ conscious lyrics, but unfortunately, most of the recent media attention around Joey Bada$$ has stemmed from his controversial support of Bill Cosby. He’s enjoyed a successful year, nonetheless. The Pro Era co-founder released his acclaimed debut studio album B4.DA.$$, and has been forging his name as one of indie hip-hop’s top artists ever since. For the third phase of his “World Domination Tour,” Joey hits Orpheum with the ultimate Denzel Curry (who is also a Florida native), MF Doom protégé Bishop Nehru, and fellow Pro Era talent, Nyck Caution. (Orpheum, Ybor City) –Andrea McCray

Tampa Pig Jig with Eli Young Band, The Revivalists & more The last four editions of Tampa Pig Jig have raised more than $600k for NephCure Kidney International, a nonprofit actively committed to supporting research, improving treatment and finding a cure for debilitating kidney disease FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis) and Nephrotic Syndrome. Organizers have put together some impressive musical talent for the fifth annual event, and amid amateur grillers dishing up brisket, ribs and other entries in the barbecue competition and the usual array of booths serving drinks, goods and information, fine roots music performers like soulful Americana rockers The Revivalists, outlaw country songstress Nikki Lane, and more straightforward twang purveyors Eli Young Band pipe sounds throughout the day. Also performing: Allen Hunt, Jason Cardinal, Mark Bryan, JT Hodges. (Curtis Hixon Park, Tampa)–LP

Gun Hoes, Johnny Mile & The Kilometers, UFO Sex Scene It’s a Saturday night for getting weird and sweaty with this three-pack of acts headed up by Miami-brewed Gun Hoes, the inherent catchiness of the jangly, lo-fi salt-stained garage rock on their new Crawlies EP perfect for bouncing and bopping around The Bends’ chandelier-and-laser-lit back room. (The Bends, St. Petersburg)–LP
