There are some seriously good submissions here though.

To commemorate the leap year, Creative Loafing Tampa Bay asked readers and local leaders to chime in on what Tampa Bay needs to be a better place in four years.

We've been sharing some of the nearly 200 results of the "What Tampa Bay Needs" survey, but some readers like Bay area architect Ken Cowart just dropped straight up wishlists.

This one's kind of fun, so here it is.

- an indoor mid-sized music venue, we deserve a great music hall.
- more downtowns; a cool downtown Plant City, Temple Terrace, Port Tampa, Oldsmar.
- an updated convention center with more flexibility and use by residents
- a Bayshore beach
- a downtown marina
- hills, at least one...
- rebates for synthetic grass, so there's less fertilizer running into the river
- Fight Club Dart Club
- more "Gasparilla" named events ala SXSW
- Wrestling Hall of Fame... woooooh! and Oh yeh Brother!
- solar power required on all new homes
- University of Tampa football, they already have a great lacrosse stadium
- an improved Bucs stadium with mixed use development similar to The Battery in Atlanta
- more shade trees
- a downtown Chic-Fil-a
- more accessory dwelling units = more density = more walkability = more affordability
- remove parking minimums on all development
- require new infill development to construct sidewalks to the closest intersection rather than just in front of the house... this looks silly.
- support existing small businesses and help them survive, a small business czar.
- a late night desert bar.
- a continuous biking trail along the Tampa bypass canal from Thonotosassa through Temple Terrace to Palm River.
- more lighted parks for recreational sports
- Sulphur Springs park and amphitheater, repair the spring.
- Redevelop the Race Track area similar to Midtown.
- Staycation styled resort hotels near Busch Gardens with water parks and kid slides similar to Orlando.—Kenneth Cowart
