Earlier this week the St. Pete Times Adam Smith posted a story regarding the Florida U.S. Senate race, from a group of dozens of plugged political operatives, academics, lobbyist and other assorted hangers on that the paper will be referring to as their Florida Insider Poll.
The first published results from said group of insiders revealed that the majority of those surveyed believe former Florida House Majority Leader Adam Hasner will take the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate next year, and promptly lose the general election to Democratic incumbent Bill Nelson.
LIke most predictions in politics, it won't mean much if the "insiders," are all wrong. But it certainly is good fodder in the dead of summer, more than a year before that GOP primary race.
Feeling confident about themselves and their chances, Team Hasner today announced that of the three major candidates in the race, their guy might have done the weakest in fund raising over the past three months. But instead of acting meek or sad about that, the Hasner camp rushed to release that information to Florida reporters, and actually boast of their low intake:
