Get ready to enjoy some scenic views of I-275 and Dale Mabry Highway.

Midtown Tampa has announced that its 22-acre mixed use project will include a dual-branded, 7-story Aloft and Element hotel complete with a 10,000-square-foot rooftop terrace lounge.

Bromley Companies and Concord Hospitality will partner to develop the hotel property, which will have 226 shared rooms. Aloft already has name recognition in the Bay area thanks to its downtown Tampa location, but this will be Tampa’s first Element hotel. Both brands are subsidiaries of Marriott International, and the Element property will have a 6th-floor dining lounge that’ll have complimentary Rise breakfast.

“This hotel will provide a destination experience for travelers into the heart of Midtown Tampa’s curated shops, restaurants, and boutique services,” Nicholas Haines, CEO of Bromley Companies, said in a release. “But it’s even better news for locals…”

Our jokes about the highway vistas aside, Haines is right about the property being a local asset, and the centrally located development as a whole is a welcome addition for a town that’s been flocking to new rooftop bars like Tampa Armature Works’ brand new M. Bird lounge. Mole y Abuela, EDGE Cocktail Lounge and Bulla Gastrobar are also in the rooftop bar game.

Midtown should be ready before Tampa hosts the Super Bowl in 2021.
