A Tampa Bay home designed by the late William B. Harvard Sr., an architect behind some of the area’s most recognizable buildings, is now for sale in St. Petersburgโ€™s Bahama Shores.

Located at 6311 Bahama Shores Dr. S, the house is one of the original homes built in the neighborhood, and one of only two in Bahama Shores built by Harvard, who also designed the nearby, and long-demolished Bahama Shores Hotel and Yacht Club.

Completed in 1943, the 1,523-square-foot home comes with two bedrooms and three bathrooms, as well as exposed wood-beam ceilings, Zappelli African hardwood full-wall pocket sliders, a saltwater pool, an outdoor kitchen and more, says the listing.

As a founding partner of Harvard Jolly Clees Toppe Architects (now Harvard Jolly Inc.), Harvard left behind an impressive list of projects across Tampa Bay before he passed away from cancer in 1995, including the Hospitality House at Busch Gardens, Derby Lane, the Federal Building in St. Petersburg, the Tides Hotel at Redington Beach, Pasadena Community Church, the St. Pete Beach Municipal Building, the Inverted Pier in St. Pete, and the award-winning Municipal Pavilion and Bandstand in Williams Park, among others.

He also left behind quite a few private residences throughout the Bay area, and itโ€™s estimated thereโ€™s only about 20 left.  If you want to own this one, the asking price is $640,000 and the listing agent is Clare Kirchman of Corcoran Dwellings Realty.
