Should Pinellas extend, for a fourth time, a property tax referendum that would raise money for teacher pay raises and other needs? On paper, this looks like a no-brainer, and we’re happy to say your heart hasn’t frozen over. Your tax hike—50 cents per $1,000 of taxable value—could give a classroom the bump it needs during these very fiscally, and spiritually, scary times. Vote yes, unless you really need that extra money to buy gas for your boat (real talk though: having bad schools makes your property value go down, homie).
