Creative reuse ideas for old phone books

  • Child Booster Seats – Use fabric remnants to quickly create a new booster seat for your child.

  • Window Wipes – The pages are perfect for cleaning windows with a simple mixture of vinegar and water.

  • Phone Book Step Aerobics – It might sound comical, but if you have more than one old phone book in the cabinet, get a workout by stacking and stepping.

  • Mulch – Shred a few pages at a time; the shredded paper blocks weeds and they’re biodegradable.

  • Packaging Filler – Shipping something fragile? Stuff the box with phone book pages.

  • Wax Paper Substitute – Separate baked goods or freezer items by placing a sheet in between them.

If you’re not feeling creative, or you’ve exhausted our list, you can always recycle your old phone books, as less than 10% are currently recycled.
