"Can you believe we have presented nine seasons of contemporary dance in Tampa Bay!?" asked the press release for decaDance, the punningly titled show that kicks off the 10th season for Moving Current Dance Collective. While the company's longevity is an admirable achievement, it's not all that hard to comprehend. Led by co-artistic directors Erin Cardinal and Cynthia Hennessy, Moving Current successfully marries the accessible with the cutting edge, and the directors keep things fresh by regularly inviting guest artists and new choreographers to perform. The program for decaDance is a case in point: It includes new work by Cardinal and Hennessy, plus pieces by guest artists from Washington state (Andy and Dionne Noble, Jennifer Salk) and St. Petersburg (Paula Kramer), all presented by MC's consistently strong ensemble. If you've somehow missed seeing this excellent company in the past nine years, the 10th-season launch is a great opportunity to get acquainted — or, if you're already a fan, a chance to get the birthday party started early. Sept. 15-16, 8 p.m. Fri., 2 and 8 p.m. Sat., USF-Tampa College of Visual and Performing Arts Theatre I, 4202 E. Fowler Ave., Tampa, $15 general/$10 students and seniors, 813-237-0216 or 813-974-2323.
