It's less than three weeks until Halloween. Have you even thought about your costume situation yet? Seeing as Halloween is on a Monday, we've got four potential nights of partying ahead of us, which could also mean multiple costume changes for some who wouldn't be caught dead wearing the same thing twice. My advice: start getting prepared for this ghoulish holiday now, but don't spend a ton to do so.

If you are still without a costume and a clue, forgo buying one at the mall or online. Why shell out over fifty bucks for a cheap costume you might only wear once? Go the greener and economical route this year and make your own from inexpensive or found items. You'll be saving resources — like gas and carbon emissions from shipping and transport — as well as those packaging materials that will just end up in a landfill if you buy online. Best of all, going the DIY route will definitely spare you some greenbacks.

Get creative. Recycled and found materials, items from the thrift shop and odds and ends from craft and dollar stores are all you'll need to create an inexpensive and unique getup this year.
