The 2008 installment of Midtown Through Our Eyes — an exhibit of images taken by 44 student photojournalists from Melrose Elementary and John Hopkins Middle School who took part in a 12-day summer program — is on display at the Studio at 620 through Thursday. 2. Singer/songwriter/husky-voiced, furry-faced Maine man of mystery Ray LaMontagne releases his third, Gossip in the Grain, on RCA today.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Salsa En St. Pete and St. Pete Beach Community Center welcome Mexican artist and new Bay area transplant Rony Shubich for a special single-night exhibit, Life is Music: An Exhibition of Art, Music, & Dance.
