Readers who love Etsy.com, as well as the shops who sell their wares there, are responding gratefully to Lauren Rasch's Found On Etsy posts on dailyloafblog.com; a few email responses are listed below. Also on readers' minds these days: the Occupy Tampa rally (Saturday's warmup and the one planned for Oct. 6), and last week's Weird Al interview.
From CampyClassics, re "Found on Etsy: Tampa Vintage Home," by Lauren Rasch, Sept. 28: Thank you so much for mentioning my shop in your article! PS: I grew up in Tennessee too! Sweetwater, to be exact. Oh how I have some wonderful memories of being with my grandmother on the farm… milking cows, feeding chickens and skinny dipping on hot summer days in the pond!
GoodBonesVintageCo: We've been working super hard for the past few months, and that little bit of recognition in your article was pretty rad. Big smiles in Ybor. Chris + Sarah
From Roxie Gullikson Figaratto, re: "Occupy Tampa rallies hundreds on Saturday," by Arielle Stevenson, Oct. 3: Great person-on-the-street article; very informative. Everyone needs to wake up and realize that if they don't climb into the driver's seat of their own democracy, Corporations will gladly take the wheel…
Occupy Tampa: 10/6: Be prepared. Bring sleeping bags. Bring food and supplies. Prepare to stay. Prepare to leave. Anything is possible. Cameras are essential.
archaeopteryx: What do we want? FREE STUFF! When do we want it? NOW!
From Bob, re "News of the Weird (Al)," by Julie Garisto. Sept. 29: "Like A Surgeon," the parody of Madonna, came from the 1985 release Dare To Be Stupid, which is arguably his finest album to date. It did not come from Even Worse. Outside of that glaring error, great article.
