As you may have heard, the Republican National Commitee earlier this week approved sanctions aimed at inconveniencing Florida delegates to the national convention later this year. That's to penalize the state for moving up its presidential primary to Jan. 31 instead of waiting till after March 1, thus violating RNC rules.
We've been through this discussion before, but the news that the national party will actually follow through on its threat to sanction Florida is significant, as no doubt there was tremendous pressure from Republicans outside of the Sunshine State to do so.
But are the sanctions really that punitive?
They include inconvenient hotel rooms, poor viewing spots at the RNC, and the loss of guest passes at the convention.
