As the coronavirus pandemic brutal decimates air travel bookings, airlines are now doubling down on safety precautions and dangling some serious deals to get passengers back in the seats.

Frontier Airlines, which Airline Quality Rating ranked as the literal worst airline in 2019, is now offering a series of summer deals between 18 major metros, including Tampa, Chicago, and Boston.

According to a press release, guests can now book a nonstop flight on a Thursday between Tampa International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport for as low as $39, starting July 2.

Other deals include a nonstop flight between TPA and Boston Logan International Airport for $49, which is also available starting July 2 and must be booked on a Tuesday.

The airline also announced deals involving the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, like  nonstop flights between Cincinnati ($49), Long Island ($49), Philadelphia ($39), Cleveland ($49), and Chicago ($39).

Last month the airline announced a series of coronavirus-related safety measures, including required face coverings for all passengers and staff, and a fogging disinfectant spray protocol used to sanitize planes between flights.

Frontier also says it will be the first U.S. airline to require temperature screenings for all passengers and team members. Starting June 1, “Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher will be denied boarding as a step to better protect other passengers while flying,” says the airline.

Prices are subject to change, so check Frontier's website for the most up to date booking information.
