Hopefully, readers had a chance to check out my story about the controversy at Tampa International Airport  that was published a couple of weeks ago, and why some people in the community think that not enough is being done to try to get more direct overseas flights into and out of TIA.

We won't go over the history here, but needless to say, some folks are hoping that more is done to generate more business.  Then again, Executive Director of the airport Louis Miller contends the demand simply isn't there.

In any case, the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority meets later this week, and Evelyn Perez-Verdia, the former head of the Hispanic Alliance of Tampa Bay (among her many duties), is urging people to attend the meeting.
