Florida Democrats and good government types like the League of Women Voters were aghast at the Legislature's 2011 elections bill that they claim will make it harder for people to participate at the polls this year.
So the news that Governor Scott has called on his Division of Elections office has produced a (faulty) list to purge noncitizens from the voting rolls this spring has roiled not only those same types, but also some Supervisor of Elections officials throughout the state.

Three months from today, the Republican National Convention in Tampa will be history. In the interim, there are some anxieties among business officials in downtown. Yesterday Police Chief Jane Castor and City Attorney Jim Shimberg tried to allay those concerns.
One local bank in Tampa tells CL he's closing up shop during the convention, since he figures to be inside the perimeter that will enclose the Times Forum and the Convention Center.
And the excitement about Marco Rubio becoming Mitt Romney's running-mate isn't universally endorsed by one former high ranking Latino official in the George W. Bush administration (link to come).
