Hello everyone.
Lots of news on this Friday before the 10th year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the U.S. Speaking of that, we spoke earlier this week with Washington Post Pulitzer Prize winning reporter Dana Priest about her new book, Top Secret America, and the excesses here at home that we've expended in trying to save the homeland.
Speaking of Pulitzers, our hometown St. Petersburg Times has won a few in its day, and remains one of the country's finest papers (not that that means they're above getting shots taken at them). Not so good news today, as staffers reel with the news that they'll be getting a 5 percent pay cut over the next five months.
Thursday was a busy day over at the Tampa City Council, as homelessness and panhandling were on the menu. In the morning, the Council discussed the groundwork of trying to find a new facility for the homeless in Tampa, while in the afternoon they were passing in a workshop what looks like a six-day ban on panhandling in the city, after nearly a year of discussing it.
