As we all wait to see what happens with the budget showdown in Washington D.C., a new Quinnipiac poll released today is an important one for those who hope Barack Obama is re-elected in 2012.  Surveying Florida voters a year and a half or so before the election, Barack Obama is more unpopular than ever in the Sunshine State, which he won in 2008 and will be one of the most contested states in 2012. The survey does have good, but not great news for Democratic incumbent Senator Bill Nelson, however.

CL had a chance to speak yesterday with Lauren Book-Lim, the activist and advocate for sexual abuse victims in Florida, as she continued her state long walk to bring awareness of a bill pending in Tallahassee on the issue.

A new health care survey done by the group ONE BAY in the Tampa Bay area says the region has sadly way more suicides than in the rest of the state or the country; also we've got more folks who have diabetes.
