With comparisons to groups ranging from Pink Floyd and Radiohead to The Cure and Depeche Mode, indie-electro jammers Brothers Past have carved out a niche for themselves with emotive, synth-inspired rock anthems; beat-intensive jams interspersed with futuristic digi-bleeps; spacey melodies; and politically charged lyrics delivered via eloquent, often soaring vocals. Earlier this year, Brothers Past released This Feeling's Called Goodbye to a sold-out Bowery Ballroom show in New York City. The band continues to tour in support of the album — which was picked up by SCI Fidelity Records and re-distributed internationally in October — and you can see them perform two sets, complete with a dazzling light show, at Masquerade. See the Music Feature for more. Fri., Dec. 9, 9 p.m., 1503 E. Seventh Ave., Ybor City, $8 advance/$10 day of, 813-247-3319, www.masqueradetampa.com.
