Hillsborough County in the past year and a half has seen an extraordinary number of bicycle fatalities — 14.
To commemorate those men and women, there will be a solemn 11-mile bike ride in downtown Tampa this Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Curtis Hixon Park. Similar events will take place in Dunedin and Lakeland, all part of the international Ride of Silence day of events.
