Hey ho, let's go!

FRIDAY, JAN. 20:

The secretary of Florida's Department of Environmental Protection submitted his resignation to Governor Rick Scott. He probably just wants to get a jump on a new career before environmental protection quits being a thing altogether in, like, half an hour or so.

A 4-year-old girl was left behind in a daycare van in Tampa after the other kids were switched to another vehicle due to a flat tire. So many adventures! Not for her, but for everybody else involved: Adventures in new unemployment, adventures in criminal investigations, adventures in probably getting the crap sued out of one's business…

SATURDAY, JAN. 21:

Millions came together in St. Petersburg, Washington DC and elsewhere in support of equality, inclusion and tolerance. It was an inspiring reminder that, even in these uncertain, regressive times, no one has to fight alone. Meanwhile, the Turmeric Terror tweeted testily.

Clearwater cops helped rescue an injured great horned owl. Nothing, really — it's just that owls are awesome.

SUNDAY, JAN. 22:

And finally, events all over the Bay area were canceled in anticipation of severe weather that everybody was sure was gonna come, then looked like it might not come, and then finally came late with a vengeance, doing some damage and leaving a few thousand residents without power. So, probably a good idea, then.
