Ready for the waiting arms of the weekend? Not yet, you're not. First, you must confront your Thursday, and find strength in the acceptance of how it shaped today's you, or whatever.
Hey, remember when it rained a lot and St. Pete pumped about 15 million gallons of wastewater into Clam Bayou and Boca Ciega Bay and people were rightly all like "WTF?" and the city's public works administrator "retired" like 20 minutes later? City Councilman Steve Kornell and the rest of the council want to know why it happened, and how to keep it from happening again. I'm gonna go with A) "panic," and B) "don't panic."
Ginormous corporation Johnson & Johnson announced it will be creating 500 jobs in Tampa, in the form of a "regional shared services center" that should be up and running by mid-2016. Maybe with all that extra help they'll finally make good on that whole "NO MORE TEARS(tm)" thing, because as it stands, that shit still stings.
Hey, remember when the lawyers on one side of that whole Bubba-versus-MJ lawsuit set up a lawyer on the other side to be arrested for a DUI? The judge hearing their case has recommended that they be disbarred for life. Insert your favorite anti-lawyer joke that everyone's heard a million times here, but remember: there are conniving amoral cretins in every line of work. (It's just that more of 'em become lawyers.)
And finally, that woman who robbed three banks in Brandon during a half-hour spree a few months back explained her actions by saying she needed money to pay for her daughter's graduation party. Who says quality parenting is a thing of the past?
