TAMPA POLICE INVESTIGATING TIP
Tampa Police are currently investigating a tip that has led detectives McDonald's on 13th Ave in Ybor City. At this time detectives have not concluded whether it is related to recent homicides in the Southeast Seminole Heights area.— TampaPD (@TampaPD) November 28, 2017
Dugan — who addressed the press just after 5 p.m. EDT — said that the person of interest is not under arrest, and that TPD is just following up on one of the more than 5,000 tips the department received. The police chief, however, is “very optimistic” that this particular tip is related to the Seminole Heights murders. He also noted that the evidence gathering and questioning would be an arduous process, and added that this person may very well be innocent.
“It’s going to be a very long night,” he said.
Creative Loafing’s offices are just down the street from the fast food restaurant, and we can confirm that traffic is bananas around there. No word on whether the Burger King across the street has seen an uptick in Whopper sales.
