Keep the Change: A man entered the CVS on Fowler Avenue E. at a little after 2 a.m. on April 13, approached the counter and asked the clerk for a carton of Newports. The clerk put the cigarettes on the counter and the man handed the clerk a $50 bill, which he then put into the register. The man then changed his mind, telling the clerk he didn't want the cigarettes. When the clerk asked what he did want, the man pulled out a small partially open knife, leaned over the counter and indicated he wanted the cash in the drawer. Per the report: "The clerk shut the cash drawer and the suspect fled the store with the carton of cigarettes valued at thirty dollars leaving his fifty dollar bill behind." CVS was not charged in the incident.

Employee Discount: The manager of the S. Dale Mabry Fashion Bug "responded to the store in reference to an alarm she received from the alarm company." Once on site, the manager found the front door unlocked and a woman in the store with clothing in her hands. Per the report: "The suspect advised that she was a former employee and 'was shopping.'" The manager took the clothing from the woman, who then proceeded to hustle out the door. After the suspect left, the manager noticed that jewelry was missing and called the police.

What Would Bud Selig Do? The defendant in this case is the father of a kid on Oldsmar Christian School's baseball team. It seems the coach had benched the son for a "team rule violation," and the father was not too happy about the situation. Dad approached the coach outside the dugout and "began to act aggressively toward him." Aggression soon turned to violence, with the father popping the coach in the mouth with his fist. A player on the team had to break up the fight, and the father was arrested and charged with battery.
