Happy Opening Day of the First Scalloping Season in Pasco County in 14 Years, everybody! But first, let us return to the day before that day, which is today.
The city of Dunedin announced it will reinstate paid parking in three of its lots, saying that the practice was never discontinued, but rather suspended while the city looked for more efficient and customer-friendly processes. Residents are encouraged to stop by the library to test out some new pay station models and offer their feedback until August 4, but we're pretty sure everybody in Dunedin stopped reading this blurb after "reinstate paid parking."
"FL man driving 153 mph arrested for DUI" — yeah, that sounds about right. (It was in a 70 mph zone on the Suncoast Parkway in Pasco, BTW.)
Another week, another interesting little report from financial site WalletHub. This latest one ranks the city of Tampa as the second-best in the nation for first-time home buyers. Of course, Tampa came in 139th in "Affordability," but who's thinking about affordability when you're about to commit yourself for 30 years to the most expensive thing you've bought in your life?
And finally, remember that black sarcophagus they found in Alexandria, Egypt? They opened it, only to find it just contained three unremarkable mummies and some liquid sewage that seeped in over the millennia. Somewhere, a mediocre death metal band called Black Sarcophagus is really, really bummed.
