This morning I'm scheduled to do a phoner with singer/banjoist Scott Avett , of North Carolina's The Avett Brothers. The alt-bluegrass trio performs Dec. 8 at Skipper's Smokehouse.
Here's a clip of the band doing a spirited version of "Shame," my favorite song off their latest album Emotionalism. The CD stays mostly locked in mope mode, but these guys are known for gleefully goosing things up in concert. "They go completely nuts on stage," reads one fan's comment. That's what I like to hear.
