Bluelucy Ybor to open in Tampa

Bluelucy Gallery, which has had a succesful following on the 600 Block of downtown St. Petersburg, posted the above mysterious, minimalistic and maximum-impact graphic on its Facebook page today.

What's it all about? The gallery known for specializing in contemporary, multimedia art in St. Pete — which consistently has its finger on the pulse of pop culture — will take over a space on Eighth Avenue in Centro Ybor

Co-owner and curator Chad Mize said that owners of Tribeca approached him to set up a gallery in a space attached to its salon, and Bluelucy will be releasing information on the new gallery's opening exhibition soon.

The St. Petersburg location will remain open. Mize and co-owner Phillip Clark will move into the Ybor space in June with official details to follw on its debut exhibit.

"I really wanted to take advantage of this opportunity," Mize said. "With the success of our St Pete exhibits I want to bridge the divide between St. Pete and Tampa."
