Friday's Ybor City concert by Cuban superstar Cimafunk is also an instrument drive

If you bring an instrument to donate, GMF will give you a ticket to the 2023 festival in return.

Cimafunk plays weekend one of Austin City Limits at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas on Oct. 8, 2022.
In the seven months since Gasparilla Music Festival, Cimafunk has been crisscrossing the United States and continuing to build up the folklore around his legendary, unbelievably wild live set.

Most recently, the songwriter born Erik Alejandro Iglesias Rodríguez was in Texas for Austin City Limits. Later this month, he plays Nashville's Ryman Auditorium with Jason Isbell, then the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park for Hulaween. Before that, however, is a return to Tampa for an outdoor show at Ybor City's Cuban Club on Friday, Oct. 14.
As we've pointed out, Cimafunk's March show was one of the best sets in festival history, and some truly life-changing James Brown-level shit.

The show is also an instrument drive for GMF’s Recycled Tunes initiative, which collects gently used musical instruments, refurbishes them and places them in local schools. If you bring an instrument to donate, GMF will give you a ticket to the 2023 festival in return.
