The most festive things to do in Tampa Bay this holiday season

Feeling moderately chilly, arguing with your relatives, and sipping on hot cocoa aren't the only festivities going down in Tampa Bay this year. Here are a few solid holiday events worth getting out of the house for.

Thanksgiving Cruise

Time to take a little less traditional take on Thanksgiving. Literally set your turkey day anxieties out to sea while hopping on a cruise ship for your Thanksgiving feast. You don’t need to worry about the dishes, just drink in the views of the water while holiday tunes fill the ship. You can bring your family (if you want). $64.95/ Adult, $39.95/ Child.

Winter Wonderland Clearwater

Since 1993, Clearwater community volunteers have put together a Winter Wonderland that has become pretty popular. Admission is free except for some rides and refreshments, other than that guests can enjoy activities such as, a hot chocolate shop, a petting zoo, a Bouncy House, a Giant Slide and the Holiday Express Train.

Since 1993, Clearwater community volunteers have put together a Winter Wonderland that has become pretty popular. Admission is free except for some rides and refreshments, other than that guests can enjoy activities such as, a hot chocolate shop, a petting zoo, a Bouncy House, a Giant Slide and the Holiday Express Train.

Miracle at Mezzo

Miracle at Mezzo is a solid way to spend a little bit of the holiday away from the kids and enjoy some adult dining. The ‘mez is describing this holiday celebration as a Christmas-themed pop-up cocktail bar that’ll also be an ugly sweater party, christmas trivia night with Santa Claus and holiday karaoke, all hosted on different nights throughout December.

Symphony in Lights

Make a new nightly tradition throughout the holiday season. It’s free, after all. The Center Court at the Shops of Wiregrass has officially transformed into a winter wonderland complete with tunes courtesy of Trans-Siberian Orchestra (on the speakers) and other holiday favorites. By the way, thanks to Symphony of Lights, it’ll be snowing in Florida… for three hours a day for six weeks straight.

For most of December, Santa is also at visiting Hyde Park Village and bringing a couple activities with him for the kids. From 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Hyde Park offers guests the chance to not only paint with Santa but to also read a couple stories with him, as well as create plates and ornaments. Admission starts at $35 a person.
