Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson, who CL profiled six months ago when he came through town, announced this morning that he is a candidate for the Republican nomination for President.

Johnson was Governor of New Mexico from 1994-2002, and is perhaps best known for his support for the decriminalization of marijuana. He's also spoken critically against Arizona's SB 1070, the anti-illegal immigration legislation that has been so controversial.

He showed his hipster credentials today by invoking the Who in his statement, made from New Hampshire, the home of the first presidential primary next year.
