Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi and President-elect of America Donald Trump are buds.

The two share a love for ethically questionable political favors, opposing environmental protections and pandering to the Christian right. In 2015, Bondi's preference for being showered in lobbyist gifts was thoroughly documented in a Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times piece. Trump's soon-to-be White House, Mar-a-Lago, even makes an appearance in the story.

Bondi campaigned hard for Trump after the candidate she initially preferred, Jeb Bush, dropped out. As soon as Trump was elected, she was among speculated contenders for a job in the (ack) Trump White House, though there's been little development in that regard since November-ish.

On Thursday, White House reporter Jennifer Jacobs tweeted that Bondi "will be named to a post in the Trump White House" according to her sources, and that "Trump aides are finalizing her role." (Read her full story here.)

Of course, another ultraconservative Southerner got the AG position (the deciding qualification? We're guessing the man card). But there are still some White House positions up for grabs.

But, as the Tampa Bay Times' Michael Auslen notes, there's been no news so far on whether she'll actually be hired, let alone in what capacity she would "work." Beyond Jacobs' tweet citing unnamed sources, the only other evidence of a possible Trump job for Bondi was a meeting between the two that took place weeks ago.

A Trump transition team told him as much Thursday (Bondi also indicated she was "happy" in her current role Thursday).

And a brief perusal of our spam folder yielded no Trump Transition Team press releases suggesting otherwise.
