Northlane vocalist Marcus Bridge let it all out on his band’s new album, Alien, where the Australian metal outfit addresses Bridge’s life as a kid growing up in a violent home with drug addicted parents.

"That trauma had made it difficult to express my thoughts and ideas in the past, both emotionally and creatively,” he said in a release. “[But] we decided early on that we wanted to keep the album pretty personal. I wanted to tell the stories of my upbringing and the ups and downs that come along with that.”

Northlane w/Erra. Sat. Sept. 7, 6 p.m. $20-$35. Orpheum, Ybor City. ticketfly.com.
