It’s pretty shocking that we’re coming up on the third anniversary of Ybor City’s legendary Orpheum relocating to Tampa proper.

Right before that happened, Scary Kids Scaring Kids—still featuring original members Chad Crawford and Pouyan Afkary—was part of the venue’s collection of farewell shows, and pushed the release of its comeback album Out of Light.

While the Arizona hardcore outfit’s new lineup is solid as ever, we have to wonder if this reunion would have happened faster if Tyson Stevens, who died in 2014, were still around. But if we can embrace the new Linkin Park, SKSK circa 2025 shouldn’t be a problem. Blood runs forever, you know.
