Everyone wants to be patriotic for the Fourth of July, but you don't have to wear that flag t-shirt from your middle school years to show it. Here are three simple tips for staying stylish this weekend:
1. Wear that fedora hat. Don't worry about feeling silly or if everyone is looking at you, because you are wearing a hat and only the characters from Mad Men wear hats. Fedoras are cool, and people are only staring because they are jealous of how cool you look, and wish they hadn't left theirs at home. Plus, hats provide excellent sun protection. And we should all know by now that the coolest thing to do these days is to not get skin cancer.
2. Put on a navy and white striped dress. Forget about wearing red tank tops and denim shorts. Boring. Navy and white striped dresses are all over the place this summer, so why not use the holiday as an excuse to go out and get one? Then, just slap on some pretty red lipstick or paint your nails fire engine red. Subtlety always shines.
3. Don't forget your sunscreen. There's nothing more fashionable than protecting your skin so you aren't burnt and peeling for the next two weeks. There's a crapload of sunscreen options these days for you to choose from, and you can even buy it while you're at Publix picking up a case of Yuengling on your way to your buddie's backyard barbecue. No excuses. Wear the sunscreen. Now be safe, and have fun!
