This loud, midweek treat pairs well with some of the best beer in Tampa Bay for this gig that is the first of the year for longtime homegrown proto-punk outfit Permanent Makeup.

Together with Tampa shoegaze outfit Deep Bite, the band supports Pleasure Cube, in town all the way from Minneapolis and less than year removed from the release of a grunge two-song single that tiptoes the line between art-punk and noise-rock.

There’s never been a better time to go support the venue, too. While it feels like Deviant Libation is hitting its stride as a hub for art, connection and good beer, it’s also apparently kind of on the ropes as owner-founder-and-brewer Tim Ogden makes ends meets and tries to satiate the taxman.

“He’s running the business on love and fumes,” a GoFundMe for Deviant says. The effort surpassed its initial goal yesterday and continues to raise money for one of the Bay area’s most beloved, and talented, beer makers and people.

It’s $15 at the door to see Permanent Makeup, Deep Bite, Pleasure Cube and Knife Rituals play Deviant Libation in Tampa on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
